The Poudre School District is talking about closing and consolidating schools – again – more than two years ago, the district released a proposal to close and consolidate schools, but when the community pushed back, those plans were put on the backburner. 9 News reports the district held a meeting Monday night in Fort Collins, explaining why tough choices lie ahead. Superintendent Brian Kingsley said Poudre’s enrollment is declining, just like other districts around the Denver metro and that’s created budget challenges throughout the district, leading to deep cuts.
