One man was hospitalized following an explosion and fire along the Poudre River Trail. Firefighters were called to the trail between Shields Street and Taft Hill Road just after 6 a.m. Sunday for reports of a large boom and flashes of light followed by smoke and fire in a cottonwood stand. Firefighters said one man suffered minor burns. The cause of the explosion hasn’t been identified yet, but investigators said a small propane tank and metal barrel were found at the scene.
