Ex-Severance mayor avoids jail time, must register as sex offender

The former mayor of Severance avoided further jail time in a case involving the sexual solicitation of a minor. Donald McLeod, 47, was sentenced Friday to three years of supervised probation. He also must register as a sex offender. McLeod pleaded guilty to a charge of promotion of obscenity to a minor. He was arrested in September of last year after police say he met up with a 17-year-old boy in Monfort Park in April of 2021 to have sex with him. The Greeley Tribune reports at sentencing, McLeod apologized and said: “As an adult, I should’ve known better.” For the full story, visit https://www.greeleytribune.com/.
