A University Schools student accidentally brought a loaded gun to school. Greeley police said the third-grade student at the Greeley charter school found the gun in his backpack and immediately reported it to a teacher. Police said their investigation revealed the child’s father apparently placed the gun in the student’s backpack to move it from the vehicle to the home and forgot to take it out, and the student unintentionally brought it to school. No threats were made, and no one was hurt. The child’s father was charged with unlawful storage of a firearm.
