Staff Implications As PSD Weighs School Closures

As Poudre School District weighs potential school closures and consolidations to address declining enrollment and severe budget shortfalls,  tenured educators and licensed staff on continuing contracts will be protected from immediate job loss and reassigned across the district. However, classified employees—including principals, custodians, cafeteria workers, and front-office personnel—will face layoffs when their buildings close. Probationary teachers and counselors in their first three years with the district also lack these contract protections and face non-renewal.
