Recall Effort May Face Greeley Mayor, 3 City Council Members

Three Greeley residents have filed recall petitions against four city council members, along with another petition challenging the use of automated license plate readers such as Flock. According to the Greeley Tribune, on Friday, Brandon Wark, Spencer Milne and Kevin Thomas filed petitions with the city clerk to recall Mayor Dale Hall, Mayor Pro Tem Melissa McDonald, Councilman Johnny Olson and Councilman Ryan Roth. Wark, Milne and Thomas have also filed a citizen initiative to ban automated license plate readers, also known as ALPRs, in Greeley.   Milne said the primary reason for filing the recall petitions was the council’s support for license plate reader technology. However, he also said their decisions on the Catalyst project and on entertaining the annexation of Global AI’s data center into Greeley also played a part.
