Jury deliberations underway in ex-UC football player’s killing

The fate of a man charged with murdering a former University of Colorado football player now rests with a jury. Marcus Johnson is accused of gunning down Anthony “T.J.” Cunningham in 2019 in the parking lot of Eaglecrest High School over what prosecutors called an “ongoing parking dispute.” Cunningham was a star football player at Overland High School in Aurora and was recruited to play for UC before he was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks as a safety. Denver News 9 reports after his football career, Cunningham went on to get a graduate degree in teaching and was an assistant principal at Hinkley High School.
