West Nile virus reported in Longmont prompts spraying tonight

LONGMONT, Colo. – The City of Longmont will spray for adult mosquitos Thursday night. Eight of 12 zones have been designated for spraying, after reports that people in six Colorado counties have been hospitalized with West Nile virus, including four cases in Boulder County, according to reports at CBS4. The city doesn’t usually spray this late in the season, but officials said more than 1,100 mosquitoes, with some carrying West Nile, were found at one site last week.
