Mosquito trap testing in portions of Fort Collins and unincorporated Larimer County has resulted in the calling off planned spraying to guard against the spread of West Nile Virus. Officials from the city and Larimer County’s Department of Health and Environment noted Tuesday that the testing showed a decline in the numbers of culex mosquitoes in the north and central regions of the city. A planned Sunday spraying in those areas was delayed, with only about one-third of the area being sprayed before the effort was called off.
