Fort Collins man is in custody in connection to a fire at Horsetooth Reservoir

A Fort Collins man is in custody in connection to a fire at Horsetooth Reservoir. Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Larimer County Department of Natural Resources park rangers responded to reports of a disturbance at the Skyline Picnic Area Thursday morning near North County Road 23 in Fort Collins and saw smoke on the ridge. Poudre Fire Authority and Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services began fighting the Skyline Fire and later identified the man responsible as Robert Crookston McGehee, according to a press release. He was booked into the Larimer County Jail on felony arson and Criminal Mischief. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the Skyline Fire is urged to call LCSO.
