An Evans woman has been charged with a hate crime. Delena Este, 36, is accused of throwing water on a child who was wearing traditional African clothing, before then punching her repeatedly in the arms, kicking her in the stomach and calling her a racial slur, while she played with friends at a city park last month, according to court records. Este is scheduled to appear for an advisement hearing Oct. 15 . She is free on $5,000 bond.
