E-Cyclist Dies In Greeley Crash

On Friday, September 4, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Greeley Police officers
responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of 11th Avenue and 10th Street.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 58-year-old man driving a semi-truck was traveling northbound
on 11th Avenue and turning eastbound onto 10th Street. As the semi-truck turned, a 32-year-old man
riding an e-bike accelerated to pass the truck unlawfully on its right side in the same lane. The front
passenger side of the semi-truck subsequently struck the e-cyclist.
First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His name will be released by the Weld County Coroner’s Office pending next-of-kin notification.
No charges are currently pending against the driver of the semi-truck.
