Metro Moratorium Lapse Considered In Loveland

A metro district moratorium in Loveland could lapse May 28th, but if City Council members let that happen, they may also  tighten the city’s rules for approval of new districts.  The Loveland Reporter Herald reports they held a study session this week to look at the issue, which involves a  strategy used by developers to tax future residents of districts to pay for installation of infrastructure now. They also heard about potential policy changes, which may be added to or replace city policy in future months. The city’s CFO suggested some changes to the plan in place,  particularly related to additional fees assessed on developers to pay for ongoing monitoring of districts.  The city has 23 metro districts, he said, the most in the region.
