Man Charged With Shooting, Killing Neighbor’s Cattle In Larimer County

An alleged cattle crime unfolds in  Larimer County,  where man has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting multiple cattle belonging to his neighbors west of Fort Collins.  Police allege 37 year old Michael Hester was on a UTV when he opened fire along Buckhorn Road on April 1st.  By the time he was done, seven cattle belonging to two neighbors had been shot and killed, while another was badly injured and had to be euthanized.   Hester faces multiple felony charges.  Why did he do it?  The sheriff’s office has no motive.
