Recruitment and retainment; the Weld County Sheriff’s Office hopes those areas benefit from additional funding approved by county commissioners this week. The Greeley Tribune reports the board voted 5-0 to amend an emergency ordinance aimed at providing supplemental funds to a handful of county departments to include an additional $425,773 for the sheriff’s office. It comes just more than a month after the sheriff’s office announced it would suspend animal control services and respond to certain calls on a case-by-case basis while deputies were temporarily assigned to the Weld County Jail amid staffing issues.
