Windsor officials to vote on second water rate hike on Monday

Water rates could be rising in Windsor. Town Board members on Monday will vote on a proposal to increase water rates by 6.2 percent. The increase would go into effect in April. The average family would see their bills climb about $3 dollars more a month. This would be the second rate hike this year, after the annual 3.2 percent annual increase goes into effect in March. Windsor officials say the second increase is needed to buy more water rights and to make sure the town is “closer to having water independence and security.”
