Negotiations bring down transient from UNC arena rafters

A transient who holed up in UNC’s Bank of Colorado Arena overnight Wednesday was transported to North Colorado Medical Center after he was taken into protective custody without incident. It is unclear how the man accessed the rafters of the building, but campus police were contacted around 9:20 Wednesday night. No charges are expected to be pursued. The school closed the arena to access through about 10 Thursday morning, when the man came down from his perch.
