Greeley man convicted of severely beating girlfriend

A Greeley man faces anywhere from 10 years to life in prison after he was convicted of severely beating a woman. 43-year-old Phillip Romero was arrested last April. His girlfriend at the time told police Romero accused her of cheating on him and became violently angry. He used wooden decorations around the house to beat her, breaking her leg and seriously injuring her. She claimed he grabbed a knife at one point and threatened to stab her. DA Michael Rourke says Romero has “no business walking the streets of Weld County anymore.” He’ll be sentenced on April 4th.
