Possible cases of canine distemper in raccoons have Weld County officials on high alert

Several possible cases of canine distemper in raccoons have Weld County officials on high alert. Colorado officials are investigating after Greeley Police responded to multiple reports of dead or disoriented raccoons since October. The CPW health lab noted there were several confirmed cases last spring of rabies in raccoons in Larimer County. Anyone who thinks they or their pet have come in contact with a sick raccoon or other wild animal is asked to call the Weld County Health Department.
