Old town hall to be converted into senior center in Firestone

Firestone is getting a new senior center. The Greeley Tribune reports the old town hall on Grant Avenue will be converted into a community center for seniors following unanimous approval from the town’s Board of Trustees. Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation will operate the center that won’t open before the fall of next year. Once complete, the facility will operate from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. It will feature classes, programs, and meals for seniors at little or no cost. The facility could also be used for all-age activities or for events in the evenings and on weekends.
