CU Boulder looking to buy old Louisville movie theater for faculty housing

The University of Colorado Boulder wants to build new on-campus housing. They’re looking to build a new residence hall near north Boulder Creek that could have up to 350 beds. The new residence hall would consist of one-room studios and two-, four-, and five-bedroom units. It would cost $124 million with construction slated to begin in the spring. Students could move in by 2026.

CU Boulder is also eyeing an old movie theater in Louisville that could serve as staff and faculty rental housing which is in high demand. The Board of Regents approved the purchase of the nearly nine-acre site for $10 million at its meeting this week.
