New Oversight Rules For License Plate Reader Cameras In Greeley

Greeley police have implemented new restrictions on Flock cameras, the department announced last week, along with plans to stop using certain automated license plate cameras after funding lapses this year. According to the Greeley Tribune,  police have stopped sharing data from Flock cameras with out-of-state and national sources as of Sept. 9, and now keep data for 21 days instead of 30 days, according to a city of Greeley news release. Before making a search in the Flock system, officers also need to record the reason for the search and the case number for the search. Those reasons and searches will also be audited monthly, according to the release.
