Larimer Co. offers businesses a way to ‘opt out’ of mask mandate

Larimer County is offering its businesses a way to opt out of the mask mandate. If they require all staff and patrons to be fully vaccinated and get approval from the county Department of Health and Environment, they can skip mask-wearing. An indoor mask mandate took effect this week after cases of COVID-19 continued to surge in the county, causing hospital capacity to be breached for weeks. County Health Director Tom Gonzales says the new Verified Vaccine Facility program is an optional way to encourage more vaccinations and hopefully, help hospitals. Applications for the program open November 1st.
