Former Non Profit Leader Sentenced For Stealing

The founder of a former nonprofit who stole over $1 million from the organization wi serve up to 10 years of probation and will have to pay back what he stole.

Justin Davenport, 49, was sentenced to 10 years of probation by Weld County District Court Judge Sean Lacefield during a Monday sentencing hearing.

He pleaded guilty to two felony counts of filing false tax returns and felony theft between $100,000 and $1 million, according to Colorado court records. Charges of felony theft of more than $1 million and a misdemeanor charge for failure to pay taxes were dismissed as part of a March plea deal, according to court records.
