The ruling last week against February’s special election will have little effect on Greeley’s Catalyst project, according to city officials.
On Thursday, District Court Judge Shannon Lyons ruled the special election was unconstitutional, ending the lawsuit filed by Water Valley CEO Martin Lind against the city. According to the Greeley Tribune, February’s special election, which cost the city $350,000 to administer, saw more than 11,300 Greeley residents vote to repeal Ordinance 30 passed by the Greeley City Council. This ordinance changed the zoning of 833.7 acres to a planned unit development zoning in anticipation of both Catalyst and Cascadia projects.
