NOCO Humane last month took in at least 125 cats from three hoarding situations, inundating the Loveland and Evans shelters with cats in need of new homes. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, many of those cats are already on the way to their new lives, but shelter staff are asking that people get help before finding themselves with too many pets to care for. In mid-August, a Severance resident with dozens of cats died, leaving behind 46 cats who were cared for by the NOCO Humane Larimer Campus in Loveland, according to the shelter’s news release. The cats were taken to Loveland because that location has a larger capacity than the Evans shelter.
