Greeley Election Lawsuit Ruling Nears

A formal hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 27 on a lawsuit that is attempting to invalidate the results of a municipal referendum that targeted the proposed Cascadia and Catalyst developments in west Greeley, and a final ruling could be imminent. The Greeley Tribune reports the hearing will begin at 3 p.m. in Courtroom C at the Weld County Courthouse, 901 Ninth Ave. in Greeley, before Weld District Judge Shannon Lyons, and final motions from both sides are due by the close of business on Friday. Michael Plachy of the Denver office of Womble Bond Dickinson, attorney for the plaintiffs, told BizWest in an email Wednesday that he expected Lyons to rule quickly thereafter, “maybe even from the bench.”
