Fort Collins church settles 2018 lawsuit filed against city

The Fort Collins Mennonite Fellowship has accepted a settlement in a 2018 lawsuit filed against Fort Collins. City council approved the negotiated settlement 6-1 on Tuesday night that mandates a $60,000 payout in the case, in which a homeless locker program was shutdown by the city last year, because of safety concerns from neighboring residents. The settlement places 10 conditions on the church’s plans to provide lockers for homeless people outside its E. Oak St. building, including restricted hours, constant security camera surveillance, and posted signage warning locker-users they’ll be penalized for any criminal activity, colorodoan.com reports.
