Air quality in Fort Collins has again missed the mark for federal ozone standards

Air quality in Fort Collins has again missed the mark for federal ozone standards. North Front Range air quality has been cited for high concentrations of ground-level ozone, a key component of smog and pollutants, colorodoan.com reports. The nine-county North Front Range region, which includes Larimer and Weld, will soon be considered in “serious” noncompliance with 2015 federal ozone standards and will have to adopt more emission controls. Failure to meet the deadlines and follow EPA’s “needs improvement” procedures can eventually impact federal highway funding.
