Loveland bans homeless encampments

Unauthorized encampments in the city of Loveland will now be subject to criminal enforcement and “civil abatement.” Additions to the Loveland Municipal Code prohibit unauthorized overnight camping on public property, and allows the city to remove encampments with a minimum of 48-hours notice. The emergency ordinance goes into effect immediately. Enforcement of the ban is delayed until an overnight shelter is established to house those displaced by the ban.
