Rep. Caraveo’s first bill awaits Pres. Joe Biden’s signature

Rep. Yadira Caraveo’s first bill introduced in Congress is heading to President Joe Biden’s desk for his signature. Caraveo, the first representative of Colorado’s new 8th Congressional District, introduced the Testing, Rapid Analysis and Narcotic Quality Research Act, which aims to tackle misuse of an animal tranquilizer. The bipartisan bill allows for increased testing for xylazine, that’s been mixed with fentanyl and caused drug overdoses in nearly all 50 states. The Drug Enforcement Agency has said xylazine is making fentanyl, the deadliest drug our country has ever seen, even deadlier.
