CIRT: Greeley officer fatally shoots armed man

A Greeley police officer fatally shot an armed man. It happened after midnight Tuesday on the 100 block of East 24th Street. Police were called there for medical assistance when they encountered an armed 29-year-old man, who refused commands to drop his weapon; it’s unclear what type of weapon he was holding. Police shot the man, who was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Colorado’s Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal police-involved shooting.
