Colorado’s Front Range Rail project gets $500,000 in federal funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The project aims to create a passenger rail system, using existing tracks shared with freight railroads, from Fort Collins to Pueblo. The rail corridor stretches across more than 160 miles in more than a dozen of the state’s most populous counties. It could become operational in the next 10 to 15 years. Rep. Joe Neguse spearheaded efforts to secure the funding because he said the rail project would mitigate transportation issues, especially on I-25, as the state’s population grows.
