Wolves reintroduced in Colorado could be killed if they roam into Wyoming

Concern is growing that once Colorado releases wolves west of the Continental Divide later this month, those wolves could roam across the state line in Wyoming, where it’s legal to kill them. But conservationists told the Coloradoan there’s not much Colorado can do about it under current legal structures While wolves in Colorado are listed as endangered, in Wyoming, they’re not and can be killed year-round in 85% of the state. Colorado’s plans call for the release of wolves at least 60 miles from state lines and tribal boundaries.
