Wellington residents to get break on costly water bills

Water bills for customers in Wellington should start to go down in the New Year. The Town Board approved new water and sewer rates at a recent meeting. The Coloradoan reports move comes after several residents complained their monthly water bills cost more than $100 since the town doubled rates to pay for new water treatment infrastructure. Now, new base rates will depend on residential meter size, and residents will pay a tiered rate based on water usage once they exceed 3,000 gallons.
