Weld RE-4 School Board member Aaron Smith resigns

Weld RE-4 School Board member Aaron Smith has resigned. After just a year in office, Smith cited “personal and family” issues as the reason for him stepping down. Smith beat incumbent Christopher Perkins for the seat last November and was the sole member of the board to vote against a multi-million-dollar bond measure for new school construction that passed in the General Election. Applications are now open for Smith’s seat. The board will appoint a new school board member likely in January of the New Year. The person selected will serve until the end of Smith’s term in 2025.
