Unprecedented surge of RSV leaves pediatric hospitals full

You can count the number of beds available at children’s hospitals in Colorado on one hand. The Denver Post reports an unprecedented surge in respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) has led Children’s Hospital Colorado to set up a tent outside for kids, who don’t need emergency treatment-similar to what was done at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Other children have been sent to adult hospitals for treatment while non-emergency procedures have been suspended and short-term staff hired to help tend to the influx of patients. State epidemiology Rachel Herlihy is concerned about RSV, COVID, and flu hitting hospitals all at the same time. For more details, visit https://www.denverpost.com/.
