RSV positivity rate at 25% in Colorado

RSV is showing no signs of slowing in Colorado. State epidemiologist Rachel Herlihy said the positivity rate rests at 25%. Dr. Kevin Carney, associate medical director for Children’s Hospital Colorado believes numbers may be peaking, but he said hospitals remain at 100% capacity and cautions with COVID, and it being early in flu season, their rush is no where near over. Denver News 9 reports public health officials said, as of October 1, there’s been nearly 900 hospitalizations due to RSV in the Denver metro area with most of them involving children, and more than 160 hospitalizations for flu statewide, with most cases involving strain A. The state reports there have been more than 250 RSV outbreaks at schools and child-care facilities and four flu outbreaks in residential care facilities. For more details isit https://www.9news.com/
