Report Says Outside Donors Mostly Fueling Campaign For Greeley Sales Tax Measure

The issue committee seeking to pass a sales tax increase has received more than $68,000 in donations ahead of Tuesday’s election, with most of that financial backing coming from outside city limits. According to the Greeley Tribune,  Empower Greeley has received $68,573 in donations and spent $54,687 on digital ads and promotional material for 2F, according to public financial disclosures on the Greeley city clerk’s website.  Greeley Ballot Measure 2F would increase the current sales tax rate by 0.6%, providing $20 million in dedicated funding for two of the city’s largest projects, Catalyst and the Downtown Civic Campus.
