Greeley Residents Reject Sales Tax Increase

Greeley Ballot Measure 2F was struck down by residents at the polls on Tuesday with 70% of the vote, rejecting a sales tax increase to support major projects and city maintenance.  According to the Greeley Tribune, the measure sought to increase sales taxes on all non-food goods sold in Greeley by 0.6% to support major projects and maintenance.   Initially approved by the Greeley City Council in September, 2F would have raised the current sales tax to 4.71% until 2067 or until the city no longer needs the funding, as it could be sunset earlier if all the projects are paid off before then.
