The head of Colorado’s Division of Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has stepped down following an investigation into a racially offensive remark he made. Dan Prenzlow is accused of highlighting a Black CPW employee who he said was “in the back of the bus” at a conference in April. The Colorado Sun reports Prenzlow has apologized for the remarks. The agency said nothing more than he’s retiring, calling it a “personnel” matter. Prenzlow joined the division in 1986 and has been its director since 2019.
