The Poudre School District Board of Education formally heard a recommendation to close nine district schools and consolidate two others at its business meeting Oct. 13. The Coloradoan reports the recommendation was made public by the school district Sept. 25, and Superintendent Brian Kingsley and board members have already heard criticism and concern about the recommendation through a series of meetings with those at impacted schools and listening sessions for the broader community. The board discussed the recommendation Oct. 13 but adjourned the meeting shortly before midnight, with the conversation to be continued at another meeting.
