The investigation continues into a Friday afternoon shooting on the 400 block of 71st Avenue in Greeley. Upon arrival, officers located a 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Preliminary investigation indicates another 24-year-old man was displaying a handgun when the firearm discharged, striking the victim. Officers and medical personnel performed CPR on scene and the man was transported to a local hospital where he later died. His name will be released by the Weld County Coroner’s Office pending next of kin notification.
