Man gets probation for evidence tampering in child abuse death

The husband of a Fort Collins woman charged in the accidental shooting death of a child avoids prison time. The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports Ronald Matthews Jr., 36, was sentenced to probation after admitting to deleting text messages to his wife and pleading guilty to evidence tampering. Six-year-old Roy Summers accidentally shot himself in April using an unsecured gun in Matthews and Rosinetta Mackall’s home. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
