Howard man accused of killing bear, two cubs

A Colorado man was arrested for poaching bears. Colorado Parks and Wildlife said 52-year-old Paul Stromberg of Howard is accused of shooting and killing three bears—a female and two cubs on his property. They say he then dumped their bodies on state trust land southeast of Salida. The bears’ bodies were found late last month. Stromberg was arrested Saturday on charges of suspicion of illegal destruction of wildlife, unlawful killing of wildlife without a license, and waste of game meat. He was released after posting $10,000 bail. He’s due in court next week.
