10 horses suffering from West Nile virus have been euthanized

The Colorado Department of Agriculture reported Thursday four of the 10 horses confirmed to have the West Nile virus have been euthanized. The cases were confirmed in eight Colorado counties, including in Larimer, and Weld, according to a news release from the Colorado Department of Agriculture. The department says vaccines are an effective prevention measure but horses need an annual booster if they’ve previously been vaccinated.
