Loveland, Longmont museums host exhibits on 2013 fatal flood

Two northern Colorado museums are hosting exhibits in honor of the 10th anniversary of the 2013 flood that killed nine people, including two in Larimer County. The Greeley Tribune reports the Loveland Museum is hosting 2013 Flood Images through the end of the year. The exhibit features artifacts and aerial photographs that show extensive damage to U.S. 34, parts of which were completely washed away.

The Longmont Museum has also launched an exhibit called Crisis to Camaraderie: The 2013 Flood Photo Exhibit. This exhibit features photos taken by community members showing the food, the aftermath, and recovery efforts. During the September 2013 flood, Colorado saw a year’s worth of rain in a week.
