Unemployment falls in Colorado, but retail jobs see major slashing

Unemployment in Colorado has fallen to 3.5%. Data from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment shows employers added 5,400 jobs between April and May. That’s a big drop from the 16,000 jobs added the month prior. Retail jobs were hard-hit last month falling by 4,800 positions in Colorado. Economists said rising inflation and higher interest rates could signal the start of a recession.
