Park Officer Cleared In Weld County Stun Gun Incident

A police officer will not face criminal charges for using a stun gun on a man who was accused of assaulting a park ranger in St. Vrain State Park near Longmont in March. The man was seriously injured, and it is unclear whether he faces any criminal charges in the reported assault. According to the Greeley Tribune,  Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke determined that the officer, Ryan King, was justified in using his stun gun on the man.  The ranger reported that the man assaulted him during a traffic stop for suspected driving under the influence.
