A major part of the North I-25 Express Lanes Project is moving forward. The Coloradoan reports crews will begin removing the existing U.S. 34 bridge – so travelers can expect single lane closures along I-25 at U.S. 34 starting Wednesday at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday. Once eastbound U.S. 34 traffic has moved over to the new bridge, the existing bridge will be demolished. That demolition will require the full closure of I-25 under U.S. 34 and U.S. 34 over I-25 from 9 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday. The eastbound U.S. 34 on-ramp to northbound I-25 will also be closed from 7 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday. Work on the interchange is expected to be complete by early fall.
